Liturgical Worship

Our Sunday worship is both simple and rich. We join hundreds of thousands of Christians around the world in following the Anglican liturgy that is laid out for us in The Book of Common Prayer. Liturgy literally means “the work of the people,” and, as Christians, we seek to do the joyful “work” of worshiping God in Spirit and in truth. And yet, we know it is only by his grace that we can come to him. Each week, we are reminded that liturgical worship is not performance, but prayer. It is the form to draw us nearer to the beauty and heart of God as we worship him in mind, body, and spirit.

Children are full members of our parish just as they are the body of Christ, and we welcome them to participate in any and all parts of the service at parents’ discretion. We have a nursery where children ages 3 and under can be dropped off prior to the service if desired. We also have a beautiful time of children’s catechesis and formation led by our children’s ministry director, Joy Durham, available for children ages 3-10. The children participating sit with their families at the beginning of the service and then go to the children’s chapel just prior to the sermon, returning in time for communion. Each Sunday, a bulletin is provided that walks you through the service as we move through the gospel story together in prayer, song, confession and absolution, communion, and commission for ministry in the world. If you’re a newcomer, you can join in, follow along, or just listen. We’re glad you’re here. If you’d like to get a better idea of our order of worship, click HERE to see a sample liturgy.
